The Permanent Peoples’ Tribunal held its third session on Industrial and Environmental Hazards and Human Rights on 19-24 October 1992 in Bhopal and Bombay, India. Continuing the work already started in earlier sessions at New Haven (April 1991) and Bangkok (October 1991), the ten Judges listened to the testimony of people from all over Asia. The third session was held in Bophal because it provided immediate access to thousands of aggrieved parties and because the city symbolises the destructive potential of industrial technology .
