The Armenian Genocide
Preface by Professor Pierre Vidal-Naquet
Zed books, London 1985, pp 249
The year 1985 is the 70th anniversary of the little-know massacre of some 1,200,ooo Armenians in Turkey on orders of the Young Turk Government during the First World War. To mark the anniversary of this first genocide of the 20th Century, the Permanent Peoples’ Tribunal (successor to the Bertrand Russell Tribunal on Vietnam) held a special hearing in Paris. This volume reproduces the evidence and papers delivered at the Tribunal’s hearing, and its Verdict.
