The Foundation participates in and fosters networks aimed at cultural research, conservation, enhancement and promotion through innovative approaches and methodologies, the creation of shared digital environments and document systems. It works with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education and Research, the Ministry of Heritage, Culture and Tourism, with several European and international organizations, as well as numerous associations and networks with political, social and cultural roots. In particular, the Foundation Basso has an important role within the Association of Italian cultural institutions (AICI), hosting their national offices and secretariat.  Collaboration with universities results in scientific production (conferences, seminars, publications) and training activities. It also had an extensive network of international relations with universities and research centres.
